The Economic Company, owned by the Ramat Negev Regional Council, constitutes a business unit in every sense of the word and operates for profit by locating new investors in the region and by means of developing business units that operate in the council's communities. Through its actions the economic company grants aid to entrepreneurs, by virtue of being a "unit for economic development" of the Israel Department of the Jewish Agency. The aim is to broaden and diversify regional economic activity and produce new workplaces and sources of income.
The Ramat Negev Economic Company's main fields of activity include:
Agriculture – Activities in this field are designed to expand the agricultural economy in the region.
 | | Through the Economic Company newcomers to the region are given the possibility of obtaining development grants from the Jewish Agency, as well as development loans offered to both newcomers and veteran residents.

in close cooperation with the Ramat Negev Research and Development Center which manages an annual budget of approximately $1 million, providing assistance in agricultural supervision and guidance for the region's farmers. Additional assistance is provided in the consolidation of long-range programs; aid in locating available lands; coordination with the Israel Lands Administration (ILA) and other authorities; help in receiving building permits; and coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agriculture Investments Administration.
Industry – The Ramat Negev Economic Company aids in promoting regional industry through the following activities: consolidating business plans; coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor; overseeing the process for submission of requests for an approved factory; overseeing procedures for allocating land for industrial purposes within existing industrial zones, including complete infrastructures, etc.
Tourism – In this field the Economic Company helps to promote master plans and detailed
| programs for tourism-related development of the region's public areas, vis-à-vis communication with the JNF and government offices. Means of assistance provided by the Economic Company include: aid | |  |
in crystallizing an overall tourism program and business plans; overseeing tourism enterprises in coordination with the "Har Hanegev Tourism Association"; aid in locating areas suitable for tourism and promoting requests for tender-exemptions for land allocations; promoting requests for "Negev tourism incubators" – allocating hours for consultancy and project oversight; coordination with the Ministry of Tourism; and promoting the receipt of grants for an approved tourism enterprise.
